Twelve characters weave in and out of each other's lives, but moments of raw human connection are few and far between. While phone calls from loved ones and even strangers offer fleeting opportunities to break from the past, each character finds the distance between who we are and who we'd like to become is often unbridgeable. With desperation, humor, cynicism and hope, these men and women long for love.
